Graphic Organizers

Graphic Organizer - A teaching tool used to help students understand concepts using visual and mental concepts. Mind mapping is a great way to teach meta-cognition (thinking about how you think).
With that said, graphic organizers or mind maps are very effective in teaching and learning. As teachers we can use these tools to enhance learning and make teaching easier and more enjoyable. Studies have shown that students who work with graphic organizers do much better with recalling information and they also perform much better on standardized tests.
